"Propitiation means the turning away of wrath by an offering. In relation to soteriology, propitiation means placating or satisfying the wrath of God by the atoning sacrifice of Christ."
Charles C. Ryrie (1999-01-11). Basic Theology: A Popular Systematic Guide to Understanding Biblical Truth
"The word propitiation carries the basic idea of appeasement, or satisfaction, specifically towards God. Propitiation is a two-part act that involves appeasing the wrath of an offended person and being reconciled to them." Propitiation is that "by which it becomes consistent with his character and government to pardon and bless the sinner. The propitiation does not procure his love or make him loving; it only renders it consistent for him to exercise his love towards sinners."
A two part act.
"Appeasing the wrath of an offended person" - through acceptance of Christ's sacrifice, thereby covering our sin with His shed blood. "Being reconciled" - through a conscious choice to change our lifestyle, our choices, our reactions, our attitudes, on a daily basis, to bring them back into line with the biblical model of being.
Propitiation is a lifestyle choice, not a wall between you and your sins.

Anne Actors
When watching Anne of Green Gables the movie, The part that bothers me the most, more than inaccuracies in storyline or the fact that they took license with characters, is that when they made the character of Matthew and then had to get a body double for the actor when he was sick, it doesn't look at all like him when you see him from different angles. Let me tell ya, it just gets on my last nerve. Completely detracts from the enjoyment of one of my all time favorite stories.

Sticky Stitches
I made this today.
It really didn't take that long, but now I need someone who sews to finish it up for me. As it is now it is quite uncomfortable to wear. More like a combo robe & acupuncture set. All around I am quite pleased with it, though. Now if only I had a friend (hint), or a mother (hint), or a sister (hint), who had a sewing machine. (Hint, Hint)

The Snow
We just got our first snow up here in the high desert of New Mexico. It was very pretty, big fluffy flakes, blown against the side of buildings and mesas , and sitting softly on all the branches of the evergreens. So picturesque. It's getting colder by the day and the sun falls below the horizon sooner and sooner each day. Exactly the weather for hot tea, big soft quilts, and stacks of good books.
