"How are your knees?"

OK, first of all, it is more than a little extremely odd and disconcerting for a very random guy that one never talks to and has never ever hung out with to come up and ask such a question.
"How are your knees?" Say what!?! Fine thanks, how are your elbows? Honestly, what should my response be to that? Second, after your very random and awkward beginning, I think maybe it would be a very good idea to not ask me if I'm "dating yet" and then offer to "take care of it" for me. Umm..sorry, didn't think it was something that needed "taking care of." And here I thought I was here for an education. Silly me. And then to top it off, the best way to change the subject is actually anything other than asking me what my "name is again."
Not that this person is...any more odd than any of the other children on campus...but this kind of conversation is probably going to make me somewhat wary of talking to you in the future. Just a head's up for ya there.

To be clear, my knees are just fine. ( Or at least not telling me any storms are heading our way.) And even if they were hurt, I'd not have done it playing volleyball, (which I hate) and I wouldn't have used it as an excuse to sit out of choir. (What do knees have to do with your vocal chords?) And I certainly wouldn't have told anyone quite as random as you are, Kind Sir.
Come to find out, he was thinking of someone else (obviously) and just got me mixed up with this other random person.
Still, a very scary encounter to have with no prior warning.

Hershey's Ear Training

Tada!
The world's smallest Hershey's Kiss.
Created by none other than... the one, the only, the greatest...LaaaadyAAANNNE!
The hand is not mine.

This was in my ear training class this morning. That class kills me. So I escape into my photography. The teacher gets somewhat annoyed. Mostly when I take pictures of her, though. (Mrs. K.F.)This is the way that class makes us all feel. See? It's not just me... (N.G.)
Some of us are even going loopy. See? She's twitchin...
~~~~~~
So, I've decided that this is something that I seriously need to work on. There is no reason for me to become intimidated. These people are not intimidating. (With the exception of some of the older people on campus. Like the Browns.) Most of these people are not even trying to be intelligent on a daily basis. (Again, I am not talking about teachers or leaders.) I am a somewhat confidant and semi well-adjusted adult human being and it is only my reticence that tells me I need to feel the lessor when these people come around. Eventually I've got to get over it, because the end result is I blend myself into the background or stop trying because my psyche tells me that there is no use trying toward a standard I'll never reach. But that limits me from putting out my best. Whether it is above or below another person's best, I still want to strive to reach my BEST. So shutup Psyche. Back off reticence. Get over yourself, intimidation.
Like the whole speech is even going to make any real difference. Not. *Sigh*
The Naval Library Shoot
A while back I had an informal shoot with a loverly Navy man, (my brother, V) his wife, (who managed to only show up in two pictures) and a few minions to help set up. (Since we were in a library instead of a studio, it was a bit hard. Not that I have a studio, but it's the whole idea...)
Here is a documentation of the process. (And yes, I only ended up with one or two normal ones. But by the time I got them, I was ready to take what I could and cut the losses.)
He was trying to look buff.
He failed.
Stop laughing, you're ruining the focus!
No, No, No! Back minion, back!
Seriously, you guys gotta stop making me laugh! I keep joggling the camera!
"Technically, I should have my arm leaning on something...like here." *Snap*
Oddly enough, I like this one. A lot. He looks somewhat pensive.
See the set up was fine. It was just the stinkin subjects that were messing every shot up
.
Ahh! Finally. Take it a run, cause that's the best you're gonna get.
This one is better. Less distraction in the background.
Aren't they adorable?
What is he looking at anyway?
One of my all-time favorite shots.
(Of all the 9000 some odd shots I've taken with my new camera. :P )
It was fun. And I did actually get some good ones, even though eveyone involved was intirely too uproarious.
What esle can you expect though, when my family gets together?
Prayer Station
Sun! Sun! Come back!
This Sunday Afternoon I visited the Downtown Prayer Station ministry. They pass out drinks, (usually hot cocoa or lemonade) and ask people if they want to pray/be prayed for/or have requests for the team to pray for, etc.
It was a fun time for me, and good for me too. I tend to forget that there are people right next to me that I could reach out to. Even the ones that you wouldn't think to make eye contact with, much less speak to, are lost children that God is calling for.
The group.
(Yes, Jeff, we know they look funny. Just give us one to wear so we don't have to think about it...)
Setting up. (Or maybe tearing down.)
Nolan S. and Sarah R.
(Back there. No there. No the other right. Behind his shoulder. Yea, there she is...)
Jeffery D. and Joe S.
The lemonade.
(It was way too cold for lemonade once the sun moved behind the skyscrapers. Brr...)
Waiting to go out.
(Freezing. Come on guys! Let's get moving! Pump some blood into those frozen extremities!)
Coming back from the bus stop.
(Two full cups, Joe? Fallin down on the job there, aren't ya?)
Talking to the gentleman that wanted to talk (argue) more than listen or pray.
Praying with a lady at the bus stop.
Bird.
(No really. I'm not joshin ya! It is!)
It was a little cold but not bad. I have a few more ministries to visit before I make up my mind, but this one is really cool.
I prayed with and for a total stranger. Out loud. In front of people. In the middle of the sidewalk. In downtown Cincinnati. For those of you that know me, (Mom) you recognize why this is significant. (*Hint: It wasn't easy for me...*)
How proud of me are you? :)
