Trippin' Chipin

Meg and I have been stressing about wanting to make the most of this opportunity, yet dreaming much larger than our budgets. I thought I would give you the chance to have a part in our education...

Here and Around

Bits from my life:
"Well, if you don't want bad in-laws, just take care you marry an orphan..."<- A bit of advice given me.
"God gave me a voice, so that you could stop talking and listen to what I have to say."<- At the dinner table.
"Nononono! No, son, that's horse poo!" <- Drifting in my window. Most awesome thing ever overheard.

~~~~
Anne: Fred is... extremely good.
Marilla: That is exactly what he should be! Would you want to marry a wicked man?
Anne: Well, I wouldn't marry anyone who was really wicked, but I think I'd like it if he could be wicked and wouldn't
Marilla: You'll have better sense some day, I hope.
Opinions and Activities
I think he should sleep on his bed. The Young Squire thinks he should bounce on it. The battle of wills has begun...
Also, when he hears me coming and pops his little head up out of his crib, he look remarkably like a meerkat giving alert...
~~~~~
How my day usually goes:

7:15 - I arise with a smile & a song and emerge from my room ready to take on the day with joy.  (Crawl messily out of my bed, and throw on a robe.)

7:30 - The boss dances out the door towards the amazing gift that are public school kids. (L leaves for work.)

8:00 to 8:30 - Young Squire is done eating. I commence to remove the banana from his hair, the milk from his neck and the toast from his ear. (Hopefully, "We" will get the hang of this spoon thing eventually.)

8:30 to 10:30 - Time for "amuse yourself with your toys cause I refuse to allow your imagination to wither and die if I can help it" playtime. This is most often in his packNplay. This is Auntie Anne's sit near and read time. (Interesting note: the mini human has developed an interesting habit. For as long as I will stand/kneel there and as long as my arms are around him, he will stand and lean against me and the side of the crib/playpen, lay his head on my shoulder, completely content. Occasionally, he will put his hand on my arm and just pat it for a while. He doesn't want to be held, picked up, removed from the area, or any such, at least not that I can tell by experimentation. I would swear he is starved for affection, if I weren't here all day to see how often this tough old bird turns into a great big softy. No, really, my arms and lips are exhausted. Anyway, random, but it is quite endearing.)

10:30 - By this time, the young'un has begun to wind down (or get cranky) and usually goes down for his nap. This is Auntie Anne's 'get presentable" time and then when I make my Breakfast/Lunch/Brunch, depending on what I feel like eating.

12:00 - Usually up and around by this time. Him, not me. Supervised play and run around with Auntie Anne trailing behind. Books, puzzles, building blocks, etc. (On the rare day that he over sleeps this mark, we just continue the schedule a bit later.)

12:00 to 1:00 - His lunch time varies depending on his level of "feed me now or I will attempt to break the sound barrier while completely still." He isn't grouchy about it, just loud. (Never knew someone who could make that sound and still smile angelically at the same time.)

1:00 - Another general decontamination to remove the masticated nutrition from... everywhere.

1:15 to 2:00 - More run around time, outside time and animal visiting. (Getting a bit nippy out for this one. At least the sun still warms it up. But we usually have coats on anyway.)

2:00 to 3:00 - Wind down time from the excitement of the great outdoors. PackNplay with toys, usually with music of some kind, or occasionally a video. (Yes, I can now quote The Prince of Egypt verbatim. That and Fantasia2000 are his favorites.)

3:00 - Usually ready for his afternoon nap by this time. Although, lately he has been spending most of his nights up and screaming, so we are going to try tapering back on the afternoon sleeping. Hopefully, everyone will be better for it.

4:00ish - Mom comes home and takes over the youngun while Auntie Anne fades out of the picture. My evenings are always spent on something, I just can't seem to think of anything profitable that comes from my evenings. No, Wait, I am getting much more comfortable with my guitar, if not really more skilled. And the books/movies/shows quota of my life is more than being met. :)
